Market policies & disclaimer
A few important things to know before you order. These keep the farm running smoothly so we can keep growing good things for you.
Offerings change weekly
What we have available rotates every week based on the season, the weather, and what Henry's flock and our garden are producing. Save the shop page and check back often.
Limited quantities — first come, first served
Everything is made and harvested in small batches. We cannot guarantee that any specific item will be available for any specific customer in any given week. Reserving early is the best way to get what you want.
Pickup is by appointment only
Pickups happen on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM, in the slot you reserved at checkout. Unscheduled visits to the farm are not permitted — they disrupt the animals, our work, and our family. Showing up without a scheduled pickup will result in being removed from the customer list.
Payment
We accept cash at pickup or secure online payment via Stripe when you place your order. Payment is due in full at or before pickup.
All sales final — no cancellations, no returns, no refunds
Because everything is harvested, prepared, and set aside specifically for your reserved pickup, all orders are final at the moment they're placed. We do not accept cancellations, changes, returns, refunds, or store credit. Once you reserve an item, it is yours — whether you pick it up or not — and payment is due in full. Please double-check your basket and pickup slot before reserving.
Missed pickups
If you can't make your pickup window, please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan around it. Your order remains payable in full and will not be refunded or rescheduled. Repeated no-shows will result in removal from the customer list.
Respect & zero-tolerance for harassment
Blooming Rooster is a family farm. Harassment, threats, abusive language, or disrespect of any kind — toward us, our family, our animals, or other customers — will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to refuse service and remove anyone from the customer list at our sole discretion.
On the farm
When you arrive for pickup, please stay in the designated pickup area. Children must be supervised at all times. For everyone's safety, do not approach the animals or enter growing areas unless invited.
Quality & freshness
Everything leaves our hands fresh and cared for. Please refrigerate or store your items appropriately as soon as you get home. If something isn't right, let us know within 24 hours of pickup so we can make it right.
Liability & farm-direct disclaimer
Please read carefully before ordering or visiting the farm.
Not certified organic
Our products are grown and prepared using natural, small-batch practices. We do not claim to be a certified organic operation, and our products are not labelled or sold as such. We use the methods we believe are best for our land, our animals, and our community.
Farm-direct sales (British Columbia)
Blooming Rooster operates as a small farm-direct vendor in British Columbia. We follow applicable BC farm-direct, farm-gate, and cottage-food guidelines for the products we sell. Some items (such as ungraded eggs, raw honey, herbal preparations, and home-prepared foods) are permitted for direct farm-gate sale but are not inspected by federal or provincial food safety authorities. By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept this.
Allergens & cross-contact
Our products are grown, harvested, and prepared on a working farm and in a home kitchen that handles eggs, dairy, nuts, seeds, herbs, honey, and other potential allergens. We cannot guarantee any product is free of allergens or cross-contact. Customers with food allergies or sensitivities purchase and consume our products at their own risk.
Herbal products are not medical advice
Our herbs, tinctures, teas, salves, and other botanical preparations are intended as traditional wellness products only. They are not approved by Health Canada as drugs and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Information shared on this site or by our team is for general education only and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed healthcare professional. Always consult your doctor before using herbal products, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition.
Raw & perishable products
Some of our products are raw, unpasteurized, or highly perishable (including but not limited to ungraded eggs, raw honey, fresh produce, and fresh herbs). You are responsible for refrigerating, storing, cooking, and consuming these products safely. Consuming raw or undercooked animal products may increase the risk of foodborne illness.
Visiting the farm
Pickup happens on private working farmland. You enter the property at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of any children or guests in your party. Do not approach animals, equipment, or growing areas without invitation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blooming Rooster and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the purchase, use, storage, or consumption of our products, or from any visit to the farm. Our total liability for any single product is limited to the purchase price you paid for that product. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Acknowledgement
By placing an order and/or visiting the farm, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these policies and this disclaimer, and that you assume the inherent risks of consuming small-batch, farm-direct, and homemade products and of visiting a working farm.
